What is a work, access or protective scaffold?

Working and protection scaffolds are temporary access platforms that are not primarily used for load transfer (DIN EN 12811).

What is a shoring system?

Shoring systems are temporary support structures that is mainly loaded at the head plates (DIN EN 12812). They are frequently used in on-site concrete construction to support the formwork, therefore they are often referred to as formwork shoring.

What is a system application (digital twin)?

With a system application, the geometric and static properties of the components and the connections of a system framework are added to the FFC² database in order to provide the models for the configuration and member structure analysis in FFC².

Can I display CAD data from other programs in FFC²?

It is possible to import and extrude cross-sections of foundations and the task objects in FFC². In addition, entire buildings or scaffold build-ups can be imported via the API.

Can FFC² create a bill of material?

Material lists can be generated directly form the falsework configuration, they are based on the manufacturer's article numbers and are suitable for logistical planning.

Can FFC² create a detailed plan layout for the design?

FFC² provides an assembly instruction for the configuration, it applies in conjunction with the assembly and usage instructions of the respective manufacturer and describes the project-specific build-up.

Are static reports created in FFC² auditable?

The structural analyses reports created in FFC² are fully suitable for documentation and approval.

Can I carry out a scaffolding dimensioning in FFC²?

With FFC², you can carry out the dimensioning of your scaffolding configuration directly without additional effort to model the element structure. The automatic generation of the element structure also ensures absolute model and result reliability in design class B1.

Can I do 3D scaffolding planning in FFC²?

FFC² enables 3D scaffolding planning on the CAD model of the building object or in an empty clearance. FFC² supports this with various generative functions and a scaffolding wizard for even faster build-up configuration

Can the building object be modelled in FFC²?

FFC² enables the import, modeling and generation of building objects as well as foundations for planning and load determination.

Which file formats does FFC² support?

FFC² supports the formats FFCC and DXF as standard. Further data exchange is possible via a programmable API.

Can FFC² determine the load distribution on the props?

FCC² makes it possible to determine the load distribution from the CAD model of the task object or with substitute loads on continuous beams, multiple-span beams or joined continuous beams.

Can FFC² also perform the calculation of the beam layer?

With the ‘FormsUp’ add-on, the dimensioning of primary and secondary beams can be carried out in FFC². Thus, FFC² provides the best possible support for planning the optimum formwork shoring in terms of material utilisation and maximum safety.

Which regulations are applied in FFC²?

The dimensioning in FFC² is carried out according to the state of the art. The provisions of EC3 and DIN EN 12812 apply with the addition of other codes (e.g. DIN EN 12811, DIN EN 16031) and the MVV (Model administrative regulation by DIBt) as well as notifications from the DIBt council for scaffolding.

Why is FFC² used to dimension scaffolding for shoring?

FFC² requires the load application at the head pates (excluding dead loads) and 2D load transfer (2D design), this is common in shoring construction. In comparison, working, access and protective scaffolding often require other design approaches (3D, loading on ledgers).

Can I use FFC² for the dimensioning of working, access and protective scaffolding?

FFC² is primarily designed for the dimensioning of shoring scaffolds; in comparison, working, access and protection scaffolding often require 3D dimensioning. The load application and the load transfer are decisive for the calculability. FFC² requires the load application at the head plates (excluding dead loads) and the 2D load transfer (each plane bears its own load).

How does FFC² guarantee the highest reliability of results?

The automatic generation of the element structure (approved by the DIBt if necessary - type sheet structure modelling) in combination with the system application (digital twin) ensures that the element structure is always created in the same way, including all system-specific and general technical provisions. Added to this is the precise calculation according to 2nd order theory and the support of non-linear, force-locking, loose calculation models as well as the automatic inclusion of all revelant verifications. This leaves no room for errors in the structural model.

Which design concept is used for the FCC² dimensioning?

Depending on the scaffolding system, the dimensioning is carried out according to the elastic/plastic or elastic/elastic design concept according to 2nd order theory.

Which design class is used in FFC²?

The dimensioning in FFC² always takes place in design class B1. As no manual element structure model has to be created for the calculation, there is no need to switch to less load-bearing design classes, which may require more material. Results of design class B1 can be used for the design classes B2 and A.

How to integrate a system scaffolding into FCC²?

If a specific system scaffolding is to be planned and dimensioned with FFC², a digital twin must first be created. This contains all the technical and geometric data of the system scaffolding, including all verifications. Please contact us if you have any further questions.

Who or what is SmartScaff?

SmartScaff is a brand of 3Ts GmbH and is used to market solutions for efficient scaffolding construction, such as FFC².

Do I need additional software products to use FFC²?

FFC² is a standalone software and does not require any additional software licenses.

Why is FFC² so much more efficient?

On the one hand, FFC² supports the user with many automated functions that speed up the configuration of the superstructure. On the other hand, FFC² takes over the generation of the element structure and thus eliminates the need for time-consuming, manual element structure creation for the dimensioning. This frees up time for optimising the superstructure in terms of material usage and thus creates additional efficiency on the construction site.

For whom is FFC²?

FFC² is for all those who deal with the planning and statics of shoring. FFC² can be used from the development of system scaffolds to the planning and structural verification of planned constructions. It is also an excellent tool for the training of scaffolders and engineers, as the load-bearing behaviour of the superstructure is made transparent.

What advantages does FFC² offer?

On the one hand, FFC² offers fast planning of shoring structures, on the other hand, it enables direct, precise dimensioning and also optimisation of the build-up with regard to material usage. FCC² thus helps to create faster, more precise, more efficient and safer quotations and designs, with a significant impact on the entire value chain.

Which scaffolding systems are available in FFC²?

FFC² is open to any scaffolding manufacturer and its system scaffolding, but the use of a scaffolding system in FFC² requires a FFC² system application (digital twin) of the system scaffolding. This is usually ordered by the manufacturer. You can find out which scaffolding systems are currently available in FFC² on our website.

What distinguishes FFC² from other CAD programs?

With FFC², the element structure is generated automatically using a database containing the properties of the components and connections between them (digital twin of the system scaffolding). Regardless of the user, the correct model is always generated at the click of a button, thus guaranteeing consistent model quality. Together with the precise calculation according to 2nd order theory and the handling of non-linear, force-locking, loose connections (verifications and stiffnesses), FFC² is specially designed for the problems of scaffolding systems.
